Indeed college is fun. It’s one of the enjoying phase of one’s life. Doing your best in your classes, making friends, joining org, meeting temporary people. You begin to think, “I’m good enough. I’ve got this.”
But unfortunately after all the happiness, graduation hits. And so does the reality.
I’ve been there, done that. Life after college isn’t a walk in the park ending you thought it would be. It’s challenging. It’s humbling. But it es also where real growth is about to begin.
Having said that. Here is what I have e learned and what I want to share with every fresh graduate out ther.
1. You Are Not Special
You may have been doing good in college, but in the real world of competition, everyone else is also competitive. Life will humble you. It will make you question your capability. That’s okay. It’s part of the process.
2. Embrace Rejection
Brace yourself, rejection will be part of your story. Job hunting, opportunities, relationships; you name it. But don’t let break you. Don’t cry over today’s “NO,” because tomorrow may bring a big YES.
Padayon lang Change is constant, and no feeling is final. May tatanggap at may tatanggap sa’yo na company, mag tiwala ka lang sa sarili mo.
3. Connections Are Everything (Kani gyud huhuhu wala kaayo koy connections)
Never underestimate the power of your circle of influence. Real Friends, fake friends ,org mates, professors. Please keep in touch sa kanila. And also don’t burn bridges pud. One day, those people may open doors for you and will help you along the way.
4. Keep Upskilling and improving
While you’re busy and waiting for that job offer, keep making progress. Take free courses marami search ka lang. Kailangan mabango resume mo considering na fresh grad ka at wala pa value sa market. improve your skills. The job market is competitive, and you’re not the only one competing. Don’t be too complacent
5. Pray and Believe
There will be moments that you think of giving up. But just please don’t lose hope. Keep praying and moving and keep believing. Because what’s foryou will find its way.
