AirAsia Named World’s Best Low-Cost Airline by Skytrax for 16th Year Running

AirAsia Named World’s Best Low-Cost Airline

AirAsia has once again been recognized as the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline by UK-based rating agency Skytrax at the 2025 World Airline Awards.

Co-founders Tony Fernandes and Datuk Kamarudin Meranun accepted the award at the Paris Air Show. “This is a deeply emotional win. From flying 200,000 guests in our first year to aiming for one billion this year—none of it would be possible without our loyal guests and dedicated Allstars,” Fernandes shared.

This marks the airline’s 16th consecutive win. Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted called it “a clear sign of AirAsia’s commitment to affordable, quality travel in a fast-growing and competitive market.”

The awards were based on a global online survey conducted from September 2024 to May 2025, with over 100 nationalities participating. More than 325 airlines were included.

AirAsia currently flies to over 130 destinations from hubs in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Cambodia.

To celebrate, AirAsia Philippines is offering promo fares starting at PHP116 one-way to select destinations. Booking runs from June 18 to July 3, for travel between July 2, 2025 and March 31, 2026. Passengers also get 16% off on 20 kg check-in baggage. SOURCE: PNA
