MANILA, Philippines — Manila Electric Company (Meralco) announced that more residential communities will soon gain greater control over how their homes are powered. The Retail Aggregation Program (RAP) rolls out beginning June 26, 2026.

Under the RAP, residential developments with a combined demand of at least 100 kilowatts (kW) may qualify to participate. Communities can then aggregate their electricity demand. They can also explore competitive supply options from qualified retail electricity suppliers.

The program aims to empower consumers by providing flexibility and choice. As a result, communities could benefit from more competitive electricity rates and customized energy solutions. It also supports broader efforts to enhance efficiency and transparency in the power sector.

By enabling collective participation, RAP opens new opportunities. Residential groups can take a more active role in managing their energy consumption. At the same time, they contribute to a more dynamic and competitive electricity market.

Meralco encourages interested communities to learn more about the program and determine their eligibility by visiting: https://mer.ph/RAPFAQS

The initiative marks a significant step toward a more consumer-driven energy landscape. In this landscape, communities get the tools to make informed and empowered choices about their power supply.
