More Power, More Choice: Retail Aggregation Program Opens Doors for Communities Starting June 26

MANILA, Philippines — Manila Electric Company (Meralco) announced that more residential communities will soon gain greater control over how their homes are powered with the rollout of the Retail Aggregation Program (RAP) beginning June 26, 2026. Under the RAP, residential developments with a combined demand of at least 100 kilowatts (kW) may qualify to participate, enabling communities to aggregate their electricity demand and explore competitive supply options from qualified retail electricity suppliers. The program aims to empower consumers by providing flexibility and choice, allowing communities to potentially benefit from more competitive electricity rates and customized energy solutions tailored to their needs. It also supports broader efforts to enhance efficiency and transparency in the power sector. By enabling collective participation, RAP opens new opportunities for residential groups to take a more active role in managing their energy consumption while contributing to a more dynamic and competitive electricity market.
