Reviving and Preserving Inati: KWF Key Officials Lead Language Validation in Boracay

The Chairperson, Atty. Marites A. Barrios-Taran, personally visited the Ati community in Boracay, accompanied by Full-time Commissioner Carmelita C. Abdurahman and Kalibo Vice Mayor Phillip Y. Kimpo, Jr., as part of the Commission’s continuing efforts to preserve indigenous languages.

The visit aimed to assess the current vitality of the Inati language on the island and to carry out the necessary documentation in line with the Commission’s mandate to safeguard and promote indigenous languages across the country. As part of the program, the Commission also distributed books and school supplies to the Ati community in support of their education and in strengthening their language and cultural heritage.
