MANILA, Philippines, December 2023 – In a dazzling debut, OneSelah Hotels makes history this holiday season. The three-star local chain, known for quality within budget, held its first-ever Christmas tree lighting ceremony. The event took place amid the lush greenery and enchanting gazebo of Selah Garden Hotel. As a result, it marks the beginning of a cherished annual tradition for guests and the community alike.
One Selah’s Growing Portfolio
Selah Garden is nestled along the bustling Park Avenue in Pasay City. It is one of five properties under this local hotel group. Moreover, One Selah’s portfolio includes Selah Pods Hotel and Selah Lofts Hotel. Both share a building along F.B. Harrison in Pasay. In addition, the group runs My Cabin by One Selah in Bustos, Bulacan. Finally, it operates The Ravine by One Selah in Indang, Cavite.
“This inaugural ceremony, a history of its own, aims to redefine the traditional holiday experience. It infuses a touch of Selah’s signature elegance into the season’s festivities,” says Ray Andrew Verghese, the hotel’s general manager. He adds, “This year’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony isn’t just a celebration. It’s a testament to the resilience and spirit of our community. We are here to celebrate that and more.”
A Tree That Represents Life, Hope, and Joy
In-house talents curated the hotel’s Fiesta-themed Christmas tree. Joshua Laureano, the group’s Operations Manager for its destination properties, headed the team. The tree stands tall and proud. It represents life, hope, and joy — the same values the brand wishes to give its guests this holiday season.
Taking center stage is the Filipino Belen, or Nativity Scene. It depicts the birth of Jesus Christ. Moreover, it serves as a continuous reminder of the true meaning of Christmas — an inviting reflection on humility, faith, and the spirit of giving. The tree also features the holy cross. This emphasizes the significance of Jesus’ life. In other words, it spans his birth, his mission of salvation, and his crucifixion and resurrection.
Distinguished guests joined community leaders in the ceremonial countdown. They included Pasay City Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano. Sharlene Batin, Department of Tourism Regional Director for the National Capital Region, also joined. Meanwhile, the award-winning De La Salle Chorale serenaded attendees with holiday cheer. Guests also sampled delectable seasonal treats and festive offerings. In addition, they can expect these when visiting any Selah property.
