Bell-Kenz Pharma is strengthening its commitment to inclusive healthcare. The National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) invited the company to join the National Working Committee, which is preparing for the 2026 Cerebral Palsy Awareness and Protection Week.
The Philippines observes the week nationwide every September 16 to 22 under Proclamation No. 588. It aims to raise public awareness and understanding of cerebral palsy, and to promote early detection, timely intervention, inclusion, and support for persons with the condition.
Corporate Branding and Public Affairs Head Mr. Patrick Larraga will lead Bell-Kenz Pharma’s participation in discussions and preparations. The goal: greater public awareness, inclusion, protection, and support for persons with cerebral palsy.
The National Working Committee brings together national government agencies, local government units, medical and rehabilitation organizations, disability advocacy groups, civil-society organizations, and the private sector. Together, they aim to ensure activities for the annual observance are responsive to the needs of persons with cerebral palsy and the broader disability community.
The invitation followed a coordination and courtesy call on July 28, 2026. Bell-Kenz Pharma Public Affairs Manager Anna Leah Poteet Morales met with NCDA officials, including Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Chief Jayme J. Mariño, Information Officer I Jem Aguilar, and Project Evaluation Assistant Nanie Umali-Apostol.
Expanding Sagip CPR to Persons with Disabilities
During the meeting, Bell-Kenz Pharma also proposed expanding its Sagip CPR Campaign. The proposal would introduce disability-inclusive Hands-Only CPR training in partnership with the NCDA.
The proposal aims to make basic emergency-response education more accessible to persons with disabilities, their caregivers, family members, and loved ones who provide daily care. Equipping both PWDs and the people around them with potentially life-saving CPR skills would strengthen emergency preparedness within households and communities.
The proposed collaboration may include adapting CPR training approaches and materials to participants’ needs. It could also mean coordinating with disability organizations and specialists, and developing approaches that encourage persons with disabilities to actively take part in emergency preparedness.
The initiative aligns with Bell-Kenz Pharma’s broader efforts to promote CPR awareness and equip communities with potentially life-saving emergency-response knowledge.
