The Department of Tourism (DOT) Office of Tourism Standards Regulation (OTSR) organized a three-day training that strengthened the technical competencies of regional accreditation officers on how to professionally inspect accommodation facilities, services, and business practices through a standardized star-rating system.

Held at St. Giles Hotel in Makati City from March 24 to 26, the National Accommodation Standards (NAS) Training 2026 featured classroom-based discussions on rating different hotel amenities, rooms, food and beverage, as well as its hospitality, efficiency, and friendliness.

The training program also included a site visit to the factory of Canadian Manufacturing, where participants got a closer look at how the 67-year-old company produces quality hotel fabrics, how their quality is tested, and how they deliver comfort to guests. The three-day initiative capped off with a mock inspection of two hotel properties, where participants got to apply and sharpen what they learned on inspecting and auditing establishments.#DOTPhilippines #BagongPilipinas
