DOST-NCR Deploys High-Tech Mobile Command Vehicle to Boost Muntinlupa’s Disaster Response Capability

MUNTINLUPA CITY, Philippines — The Department of Science and Technology – National Capital Region has strengthened local disaster preparedness efforts with the official turnover of a Mobile Command and Control Vehicle (MoCCoV) equipped with triage technology to the City Government of Muntinlupa. The turnover ceremony, held on April 17, 2026, at Colegio de Muntinlupa, followed the recent launch of the iHub in MUNTAPARLAS, further reinforcing the region’s commitment to disaster resilience and innovation.

The event was led by Renato U. Solidum Jr., alongside key officials including Teodoro M. Gatchalian, Sancho A. Mabborang, and Romelen T. Tresvalles, in partnership with Muntinlupa City Mayor Rozzano “Ruffy” B. Biazon, Lone District Representative Jaime R. Fresnedi, and CDM President Teresita C. Fortuna. The MoCCoV serves as a mobile command center designed to enhance real-time coordination, data gathering, and on-ground emergency operations. Equipped with advanced triage technology, the vehicle enables faster decision-making, improved inter-agency collaboration, and more efficient deployment of resources during disasters and emergencies. To further strengthen the initiative, Colegio de Muntinlupa will lead research efforts to evaluate the effectiveness of the MoCCoV. The collaboration aims to generate data-driven insights that will help optimize deployment strategies, improve operational efficiency, and support evidence-based policymaking in disaster risk reduction and management. By bringing critical technologies closer to communities, the initiative ensures continuous, responsive, and adaptive disaster management—helping protect lives and minimize risks even in the most challenging situations. The project underscores DOST-NCR’s commitment to advancing innovation and building safer, more resilient communities across the National Capital Region.
